ISLAMABAD: The cryptocurrency market remained mixed on Monday, with the market capitalization gaining 0.2 percent to reach $2.54 trillion. As of 1345 hours GMT, the price of Bitcoin, the world’s oldest and most valued cryptocurrency, slipped to $66,850 with a decrease of 0.2 percent in the last 24 hours. The market capitalization of the biggest crypto has reached $1.317 trillion with this decrease. Bitcoin has been 6.3 percent up in the past seven days. After months of enthusiasm about a potential rally to unprecedented high towards $100,000, building up in the wake of spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) approval, a new record value near $73,000, and the halving event in April, Bitcoin price movement turned relatively stagnant and even threatened a collapse in early May. By the middle of the month – and particularly after the latest US CPI report came out lower than was feared – the world’s premier cryptocurrency again took off, gaining around 5 percent in a week and surging from a low near $60,000 to a press time price of $66,357.
