BKU Charsadda makes green tea from olive leaves

The Agronomy section of Agriculture Department, Bacha Khan University (BKU), Charsadda has succeeded in its experiments to make green tea from olive leaves, said Assistant Professor Agronomy, Dr Wajid Ali Khan.
During the announcement ceremony of achieving the feat wherein Chairman of the Agronomy Department, Dr Iftikhar Alam, Dr Ikram Ullah, Attaullah Jan, scholars and students were also present, Professor Dr Wajid Ali Khan said work on making green tea from olive leaves started some two years ago and at last the experiments met with success.
Dr Wajid Ali Khan said after achieving success in making green tea from olive leaves, it has also been confirmed that this tea would prove much better and curable for the patients of blood pressure and diabetes.
He said the reason behind conducting such experiments was to provide low cost and effective curable medication to the diabetes and blood pressure patients.
Chairman of the department, Dr Iftikhar Alam said the students of PhD and MPhil have been assigned the responsibility to make further research on olive tea, its benefits and further improving its quality.
