MULTAN: Local police arrested three members of a dacoit gang with goods worth a million ruppees recovered from their possession. The arrested alleged criminals including Muhammad Arsalan, son of Nasir alias Tili is ring leader of the gang called Arsalan gang. The rest of two accused being held including Usama Iqbal, son of Iqbal Rajput and Adil, son of Jamal Hussain Rajput. The goods worth a million rupees were recovered along with a motorbike and nine lakh rupees cash also recovered from the accused people. In preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed to be involved in more than 22 cases of robbery, theft and other strate crimes. APP

Paper factory gutted
FAISALABAD:Precious items in a paper factory were reduced to ashes due to a fire incident in Khurarianwala police station on Tuesday. A Rescue 1122 spokesman said the fire erupted in Punjab Paper Mill near Khurarianwala which engulfed surroundings and burnt precious things. On information, fire fighters of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and brought the fire under control. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident, he added. APP
Accused held for firing on police official
BOUREWALA: An accused involved in firing on police constable was held with illegal weapon, police said. The under- training police official named Ali Akbar, resident of b-block was attacked soon after he came out a local mosque after offering prayer. It was said the the trainee police official narrowly escaped of straight fire by the accused identified as Zain Tour. City Police Station had registered the case on report of the victim few days ago. On Tuesday, police succeeded to have arrested the accused with recovering the illegal arm from his custody, it was said. APP
Swiss ambassador praises PRCS role during disasters
ISLAMABAD: Swiss Ambassador to Pakistan, George Steiner, commended the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) for its outstanding service during natural disasters and crises. He emphasized that while all countries have been affected by climate change, Pakistan has suffered particularly severe impacts. By aiding flood-affected families, PRCS has honored its mandate and fulfilled its duty to humanity. Ambassador Steiner noted that Pakistan ranks seventh on the climate risk index, which is extremely concerning, and emphasized the need for active participation and stringent measures to combat global warming.
He commended Chairman Laghari for his efforts to modernize the PRCS and enhance diplomatic relations. Additionally, he acknowledged the significant actions taken by PRCS under Laghari’s leadership, highlighting the ongoing and future initiatives dedicated to serving humanity.
