By-election of PP-23 gains momentum in Chakwal

Chakwal, (Online): The by-election of PP-23 Chakwal-4 is gaining momentum after the announcement of election schedule by the election commission of Pakistan.
According to details, the seat was declared vacant after the death of PML (N)’s MPA Malik Zahoor Anwar who was died of Cancer on 21st February.
Malik Shehr Yar Awan the nephew of deceased MPA is likely to be the candidate of PML(N), however local MNA of PML(N) Sardar Mumtaz Tamman is trying to bring Malik Asad Dher Mond.
PTI have declared that it would bring its own candidate while the local leader of PML (Q) Hafiz Ammar Yasir is also interested to contest the election. It is likely that a joint candidate of PTI and PML(Q) will contest the election.
The nomination papers are to be filed on 13th March to 15th , While the election will be held on 18th April. Pakistan People Party is reluctant to bring its own candidate however the support of PPP is vital for the opposition parties’ candidates. JUI (F) is also trying to bring all the religious parties and organizations at one platform after the consensus. It would announce the strategy of by-elections within couple of days.
The differences between advisor to Chief Minsiter Malik Saleem Iqbal and MNA Sardar Mumtaz Tamman are at peak and political pundits predicted that these differences would be harmful for the PML (N)’s candidate.
It is also a matter of interest that the MNA Sardar Mumtaz Tamman had revolted the decision of party high command regarding the elections of Chairman and Vice Chairman of Distt. Council Chakwal and with other two parliamentarians of PML (N) they brought their own panel and contested the chairman election but rebel parliamentarians were defeated with big margin.
