By-polls confirmed PTI popularity in KP: Saif

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif on Monday congratulated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and party’s workers on a victory in by-polls in Kurram.
In a statement issued here, he said that people of the province have once again reposed full confidence in PTI and leadership of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and termed it a victory of truth.
He said that result of the by-polls in Kurram have confirmed that the people of KP stood firm with PTI chief, Imran Khan.
“The political consciousness worked and PTI chairman again defeated Alibaba and forty thieves in the province,” he added.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the success of Imran Khan from all four constituencies of KP is a record in the political history of the country, adding that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leadership suffered a major seatback in the province.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI chairman Imran Khan on Sunday won the National Assembly constituency NA-45 Kurram in the by-polling.
He defeated Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam Fazal (JUI-F) candidate Jamil Khan, a joint candidate of PDM.
PTI chief Imran Khan bagged 20,748 votes while Jamil Khan secured only 12,718, as per unofficial results.
The PTI chief had filed papers for the NA-45 Kurram seat after it fell vacant following the resignation of his party member, Malak Fakhar Zaman Khan Bangash.
There were 14 candidates in the by-election including Sher Muhammad Khan of Jamaat Islami, and independent candidates Saif Ullah Khan, Jahanzeb and Sarfaraz Khan.
