Report says a total of 98 suspects arrested,42 gangs busted in Peshawar

Capital City Police on Monday issued the monthly performance report for August and said that the police in the provincial metropolis on the special instructions of CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar and SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi successfully conducted a number of anti-social operations.
According to the performance report, Peshawar police busted a total of 42 criminal gangs and arrested 98 suspects.
During the operations, police claimed to have seized Rs4.8 million cash, 224 valuable mobile phones, 11 vehicles, 79 motorcycles, valuable gold ornaments, 10 tolas, four rickshaws, prize bonds and other valuable items from the arrested suspects.
CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar said that appropriate measures have been taken by the force to ensure peace and safety of citizens.
A strict monitoring system of the criminal elements has been put in place and the nose around the criminals involved in crimes has been tightened under a new strategy.
“The gangs involved in street crimes, robbery, robbery, car and motorcycle lifting and snatching and other serious crimes will face operations and soon all them will be apprehended without any discrimination,” he added and said that police operations for the prevention of crimes and the establishment of law and order throughout the district will continue.
Police in the monthly report maintained that notorious suspects involved in armed robberies, house theft, robbing citizens in passenger cars, snatching mobile phones from people on the road, stealing cash, car lifters, car thieves, motorcycle theft and other serious crimes have been busted and arrests have been made.
