Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed held a special meeting with the Chairman and members of the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) Gulbahar, reviewing their system, performance, and future goals.
SP Faqirabad Division Muhammad Arshad Khan, DSP Gulbahar Circle Ihsan Marwat, and DSP Faqirabad Circle Umar Afridi were also present.
During the meeting, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed praised the DRC members for resolving disputes amicably and said their work reflects dedication, sincerity, and a strong spirit of public service.
“I pay tribute to the DRC members for their tireless efforts in promoting justice and serving the community,” he added.
A detailed review of the DRCs, established in 2014, highlighted their effectiveness in resolving thousands of disputes with mutual consent.
Members suggested further expanding the scope of DRCs to include administrators, traders, and regional leaders.
They also appreciated the Peshawar Police’s efforts to eradicate gun culture, curb drug and street crimes, tackle encroachment, and maintain public order.
CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed welcomed the suggestions and assured that they would be addressed on a priority basis.
He emphasized that the free services provided by DRC members deliver fast, affordable, and dignified justice, strengthening trust between the police and the public.
“The increasing recourse of the public to these committees is a clear proof of their effectiveness,” he said.
