Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Labour, Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Haji Manzoor Khan Afridi on Saturday paid surprise visits to the Excise Checking Squad at Peshawar Ring Road and Motorway Mor without any protocol.
A statement issued here said Afridi inspected the performance of the force and interacted with the passengers and got information about the officials performing duties on the post.
The caretaker minister also paid a surprise visit to the excise check post on the Ring Road and inspected the duty of the squad.
He issued instructions to the personnel to avoid wasting a long time checking the vehicles and searching the citizens at the border.
Manzoor Afridi strongly advised the staff to conduct intelligence-based operations and provide facilitation to the passengers.
He said that the Excise staff are working day and night to serve the country and the nation, adding that no leniency should be given to those involved in unlawful activities.
Manzoor Afridi expressed his satisfaction over the performance of the Excise department personnel deputed on duties on different spots of the provincial capital.
