Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed Ahmad on Sunday made surprise visits to Sarband police station, Manzoor Shaheed Chowki, Bara Qadeem checkpost and Riaz Shaheed Chowki in the city’s frontier areas.
The visit came a day after police personnel at Manzoor Shaheed Chowki repulsed a late-night attack by militants. Praising their courage and alertness, Dr Mian Saeed Ahmad announced cash rewards for the officials and said frontline personnel were the department’s most valuable asset.
During the inspection, the CCPO reviewed security arrangements, duty rosters, record-keeping, lock-ups, armories, case files, residential facilities and overall cleanliness at the police station and chowkis. He directed officers to ensure timely completion of records, discipline, cleanliness and protection of government property.
Referring to the current security situation, CCPO Peshawar instructed officers and men to remain vigilant at all times, monitor entry and exit points effectively, and keep a close watch on suspicious persons and activities to safeguard public life and property.
“Public service, enforcement of law and protection of citizens’ lives and property are the police’s foremost responsibilities,” he said. “Every complainant visiting a police station or chowki must be treated with courtesy and respect, and prompt legal assistance must be ensured.”
He further urged all officers to demonstrate professionalism and discipline during duty and to use their full capacity to promote community-friendly policing.
