Workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal Rehman (JUI-F) Landi Kotal chapter reaffirmed their firm support to the party chief Maulana Fazal Rehman for his recent statements and political stance.
Addressing a press conference at the District Press Club, Landi Kotal on Sunday, JUI-F Landi Kotal Naib Ameer ex-FATA Mufti Ijaz Shinwari, senior Naib Ameer Landi Kotal Maulana Azmat Ullah, District Naib Ameer Maulana Mujahid, Maulana Bilal tehsil head of Jamiat Tulaba-e- Islam (JTI) District Salaar Zakir Qureshi and others that party leaders and workers stand united behind Maulana Fazal Rehman and would not be intimidated by political pressure or campaigns.
He said that the statement was not intended to insult or demean anyone but the purpose was to call for an end to the conflict in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan and to demand that the people of those provinces be given the same right to live in peace as those in Punjab.
Shinwari criticized ministers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), accusing them of taking the Maulana’s remarks out of context and launching unjustified criticism against Fazal Rehman, which he described as condemnable.
Besides the party workers, the public stood firmly behind Maulana Fazal Rehman and supported his stance, he remarked.
The leader stated that Pakistan’s prevailing challenges could only be resolved through respect for the will of the people.
It is to be mentioned here that last week addressing a public gathering in Kasur (Punjab), the JUI-F leader reportedly discussed the ongoing terrorism and security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan and said that sacrifices of the security sacrifices were frequently highlighted, they were drawing salaries and financial compensation to fight for their country.
The statement sparked an outrage across the country and attracted a widespread condemnation.
