Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed paid a special visit to Khyber District here on Tuesday, where he was warmly received by District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal, SP Investigation Roohul Amin, and other senior officers.
A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour, after which the CCPO laid a floral wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of fallen heroes who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
During the visit, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed inspected key police facilities, including the Police Facilitation Center, Traffic Driving School, and Control Room. He reviewed the services being provided to the public and interacted directly with citizens to gather feedback on police performance and service delivery.
A high-level meeting was held at the DPO office, chaired by the CCPO, where DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal briefed him on the law and order situation in the district. The briefing covered the police department’s performance, ongoing operations against criminal elements, particularly the crackdown on drug trafficking including crystal meth (ice), and initiatives to maintain peace in the region.
Welfare checks were also distributed among police personnel as part of efforts to recognize their service and support their well-being.
In his address, CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed praised the professionalism and courage of Khyber District police, stating that the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is marked by unparalleled sacrifices and acts of bravery.
He emphasized the need to continue the indiscriminate crackdown against criminal elements while respecting local traditions and cultural values. He also stressed the importance of community policing to foster greater public cooperation in maintaining law and order.
The CCPO visited various checkpoints and posts across the district, encouraging on-duty personnel and awarding them with cash rewards. He directed officers to remain vigilant and assured them that the welfare of police personnel remains a top priority, with all available resources being utilized to resolve their issues.
As part of his visit, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed also inspected the Pak-Afghan Torkham border. He held a meeting with security forces officials and conducted a thorough review of the security arrangements at the key entry and exit points.
