PESHAWAR
CECOS University, in collaboration with the ADA Awards and the Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP) Peshawar Chapter, organised a day-long seminar titled “Art & Design as Catalyst 2.0” on Friday.
The event brought together architects, designers, educators and students for discussions on the evolving role of art and design in contemporary society.
Earlier, Ar. Adnan Ahmad Khan, head of the Department of Architecture at CECOS University, highlighted the need for interdisciplinary dialogue in the built environment.
Award-winning architects from the ADA Awards Fourth Cycle, including Ar. Raza Ali Dada, Ali Rez, Ar. Zarminae Ansari, Ar. Zulfiqar Ali, Ar. Faheem Ahsan Jamil, and artist Yumna, delivered presentations showcasing innovative design approaches.
A panel discussion moderated by Tazeen Hussain featured Ar. Fawad Suhail Abbasi, Ar. Muhammad Tahir Khattak, Naeem Safi and Ar. Maria Aslam, who spoke on the transformative potential of art and design in societal development.
In his closing remarks, Sabir Afridi, Chairman IAP-Peshawar Chapter, underscored the importance of continued collaboration between academic institutions and professional bodies to strengthen the architecture sector.
The seminar was attended by IAP members, former office-bearers, architects and students.
