Chairman NAB reviews progress on Monitoring and Evaluation System

Islamabad (Online): Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry chaired a meeting to review latest progress on NAB’s Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) at NAB Headquarter.
During the meeting, Advisor to Chairman on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) gave a detailed presentation regarding the latest progress on the working of Management and Evaluation System (MES) in NAB and its efficacy in future.
He informed that on the directions of Chairman NAB, NAB has developed an effective Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) catering the needs of all concerned having salient features of maintenance of data at each stage including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation, prosecution stage and record preservation of Regional Board Meetings and Executive Board Meetings including case brief, decisions made and list of participants attended the meeting with time & date and ability to analyze data in qualitative and quantitative form having warnings and alarms system for violators.
He further informed that pilot project of NAB Rawalpindi has been completed on the directions of Chairman NAB in order to have first hand information about the working of monitoring and evaluation system.
Chairman NAB Qamar said that Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) is very important in order to have measurable impact on expected outcomes and have been implemented effectively. He said that Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) will help in identifying the most valuable and efficient use of resources. It is critical for developing objective conclusions.
Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) provide the necessary data to guide strategic planning and helps improving performance and achieving results to improve current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact. He said that Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) is an important management tool to track progress and it facilitates in decision making as well as establishes links between the past, present and future actions.
The Chairman NAB said that the purpose of monitoring and evaluation System in NAB is to track implementation and outputs systematically, and measure the effectiveness of programs which help determine exactly when a program is on track and when changes may be needed.
He said that Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) forms the basis for modification of interventions and assessing the quality of activities being conducted. The Chairman NAB said that the pilot project of NAB Rawalpindi has been completed with the purpose to have first hand information about the working of monitoring and evaluation system in one of the Regional Bureau.
The Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) including pilot project will be discussed in the forthcoming DG’s Conference for detailed deliberations and on the basis of consultation with all DG’s of NAB, it will be implemented in all the NAB Regional Bureaus for effective working and monitoring and evolution of performance of each region.
