Chamkani Police foiled arms smuggling bid

PESHAWAR: Police claimed to have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of arms and ammunition news near Motorway. The suspects were bringing weapons from Peshawar, near Motorway when the police signaled the vehicle to stop as police have received information through credible sources about the suspicious vehicle. SP Rural Division Zafar Ahmed Khan told reporters that the suspects drove away instead of stopping and also shots fires on police team led by SHO of Police Station Chamkani Zar Nabi. They were chased by police and eventually, they left their vehicle on the side of the road and escaped, he added and said that the police took the suspect vehicle into custody and checked it and recovered 111 illegal pistols of different bores, 13 guns of 12 bore, 2 Kalashnikovs, 3 30 bore rifles, one 223 bore and more than 14 thousand different bores from the vehicle. A special team has been formed under the leadership of DSP Chamkani Zahid Alam to trace the involved networks and arrest them as soon as possible after registering a case related to illegal arms and ammunition.
