Finance Minister Ishaq Dar underscores need for deepening Pak-China ties in economy and trade

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has commended Chinese support for Pakistan and underscored the need for further deepening bilateral relations in economic, trade and financial sectors.
He was talking to chargé d’affaires of China Pang Chunxue, who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Highlighting deep-rooted historical bilateral relations between the two countries, Ishaq Dar commended the Chinese support for Pakistan and underscored the need for further deepening the existing ties in economic and trade as well as financial sectors.
Extended Eid greetings to the people of Pakistan and the Finance Minister, Ms. Pang Chunxue praised close and shared friendly relations between the two countries.
She assured the Finance Minister of the continuous support of the Chinese government to the people of Pakistan. The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and avenues to enhance existing cooperation in multiple fields.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated Charge d’ Affaires Pang Chunxue for all the support and cooperation which Pakistan had been receiving from the leadership of China.
FM expresses satisfaction over performance of FBR
Finance Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar has expressed satisfaction over the revenue targets of FBR for the financial year 2022-23 and its performance.
A meeting with reference to revenue performance of FBR was held in Finance Division Tuesday under FM Ishaq Dar. It was attended by SAPM on finance Mr Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Tariq Mehmood Pasha, chairman FBR and senior officers of Finance division and FBR. Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed gave detailed briefing on FBR revenue targets for the period from July 2022 to March 2023 and its performance.
He asserted that FBR will make every possible effort to achieve its targets for the remaining period of financial year 2022-23. FM expressed his satisfaction over it and appreciated the performance of the revenue time for its performance. Ishaq Dar extended his full support to the FBR in performance of its duties for revenue collection.
FM urged FBR team to step up its efforts to achieve the real tax potential of the country.
