Beijing(PR): Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed grief over the Quetta’s tragic incident, assuring his country’s full support to fight against terrorism, protecting the people’s lives and safety.
In a similar message of condolence to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also condemned the incident in strongest term.
President Xi in his message of condolence to his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain, said
“I was shocked to learn that the terrorist attack in Quetta of Balochistan Province has caused heavy casualties. The Chinese people share the deep sympathy with the Pakistani people on such sufferings.
On behalf of the Chinese Government and people as well as in my own name, I would like to extend deep condolences to the deceased and sincere sympathy to the injured and bereaved families.”
China is opposed to all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the terrorist attack. The Chinese side will continue to firmly support Pakistan’s efforts to fight against terrorism, safeguard national stability and protect the people’s lives and safety, President Xi added.
Premier Li Keqiang said, he was shocked to learn that the terrorist attack in Quetta of Balochistan Province has caused heavy casualties. The Chinese side strongly condemns this attack. On behalf of the Chinese Government, I would like to extend deep condolences to the deceased and sincere sympathy to the injured and bereaved families.
China is firmly opposed to all forms of terrorism and will as always, support the unremitting efforts of the Pakistani Government and people to safeguard national security and stability and fight against terrorism.
Earlier in Beijing, a spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying also strongly condemned the terrorist attack, stating that the Chinese government and the people are greatly shocked and saddened over the tragic happening.
Stressing that China opposes terrorism in any form, she said China will continue to support Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism.
At a ceremony held at the Chinese embassy in Islamabad, the Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong said, he was deeply shocked and saddened by the attack.
He expressed strong condemnation, stating their hearts go out to the families of those killed and injured. “We will always stand behind the Pakistani side in its fight against terrorism and its campaign for stability of the country and security of the people,” he added.
At the outset of the ceremony, one-minute silence was also observed for the departed souls, and to express sympathies with the affected families.
