It is clarified that the Pakistan Sugar Mills Assocation (PSMA) has taken exception to a news item, published in Daily Lead Pakistan on November 22, which has inadvertently mentioned the association as “sugar mafia”, which reflects negatively both on the newspaper and the PSMA. It is further clarified that the DLP holds the PSMA and all other national entities in high esteem, and acknowledges their contribution to the national economy. It is stated that the DLP’s coverage is never meant to defame or malign individuals or organizations. The professional lapse is highly regretted.
