Clearing agents in Torkham seek release of their colleagues

Clearing Agent Association, Torkham demanded of the security forces to release their eight colleagues, detained in an allegedly fake currency case at Torkham Border last month.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in district press club,Khyber, the association head Mujib Shinwari, flanked by scores of clearing agents and relatives of the detainees, regretted that previous month security persons arrested 12 of their colleagues in the fake currency case and kept unlawfully behind the bars for the last 40 days without any legal formalities however four were set free last day and the rest were still in their custody.
They asked the Corp Commander and Inspector General Frontier Corp (IGFC) to forthwith initiate a probe into the allegedly currency drama, framed by the forces at Torkham border and punish those found involved in it.
We follow Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) at the currency declaration desk at Torkham custom house, formulated and approved by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and if the security forces are dissatisfied with the process it is not our fault, he remarked.
He went on that smuggling and currency cases were supposed to deal with the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) and Customs in Torkham but the security forces being violated the law and for the last one and half month their eight colleagues had been kept illegally in detention.
They condemned raids of the security forces at the residences of the clearing agents and seized of currency and valuable commodities that must be returned.
It was an unsuccessful effort to leave the locals jobless, they added and said they would retaliate every single attempt of the stakeholders to suffer their business at the border.
They threatened that if twenty four hours of their colleagues and relatives were not released then they would move to the roads and suspend trade activities at the border.
