Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday inaugurated 96 newly constructed residential flats for government employees under Phase II of the Civil Quarters Housing Project in Peshawar.
Built at a cost of Rs886.506 million, the project comprises 96 modern residential units, each measuring 1,000 square feet, officials said during a briefing at the ceremony.
Spanning 6.91 kanals, the project consists of a basement and a four-storey building, with 24 flats on each floor. The residential units have been equipped with essential facilities, including electricity, water, gas, security arrangements and parking, to meet contemporary living standards.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the initiative was in line with the vision of Imran Khan to promote performance, job satisfaction and institutional stability by ensuring dignified housing for public servants.
He said the provincial government would continue to expand residential schemes for government employees and pursue reforms in the housing sector to improve access to quality accommodation.
Mr Afridi described government employees as valuable assets of the state and said their welfare remained a top priority of the government. He added that secure and dignified housing contributed to employees’ mental well-being and professional performance, and that the newly constructed flats aimed to provide a peaceful and improved living environment for public servants.
