CM aide calls for more focus on primary education

Attention needs to be given towards primary level of education as it forms the bedrock for social cohesion and ensured further development, said Advisor to caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on education Rehmat Salam Khattak during his visit to elementary and secondary education department there on Wednesday.
A meeting was also held that was presided over by Khattak and attended by the Project Director of Human Investment Project and other officials.
The chair was briefed regarding the above-mentioned project. It was informed that the project has been initiated with the financial assistance of the World Bank to promote education, provide training to teaching staff of the government-run schools and rehabilitate flood-hit schools.
The Project Director of the Human Investment Project Hashmat Ali furthered that the project is currently underway in Swabi, Haripur, Nowshera and Peshawar and its scope was limited for five years. While issuing directions to the education department, Khattak asked them to equip the teachers of the public sector schools with modern professional skills, especially online teaching to eliminate barriers in the system.
Rehmat Salam Khattak called for a feasible system in setting up the induction program centers to facilitate teachers of far-flung areas of the province,adding that the most of the centre established under the program were out ofreach for teachers which affecting their training schedules.
