The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has resolved the long outstanding issue of land for the University of Chitral (UoC) by according approval and allocating necessary funds.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday by public relation office of the University of Chitral, the long pending issue of providing funds for the purchase of land for the University has been resolved by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mahmood Khan who took keen interest in the matter.
“The Government has approved revised PC-1 and budget or the purchase of piece of land for the University at Chitral and after necessary approval, funds has been released by the Finance Department on the proposal of Planning & Development (P &D) Department accordingly”, states the press release.
Besides, Vice Chancellor of the UoC Professor Dr Zahir Shah, university administration, academic staff and students thanked the CM as well as Mr. Wazirzada, Special Adviser to the Chief Minister for Minority Affairs, Ms Falak Naz, Special Adviser to the Chief Minister on Special Interests and Secretary Hogher Education Dawood Khan for resolving the long outstanding issue on priority basis for their continuous efforts in the process.
VC of the UoC also thanked all the political parties and the elected representatives of Chitral for their political and moral cooperation. He also paid tribute and appreciated Commissioner Malakand Division Mr. Zaheerul Islam, District Administration especially former Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Mr. Hassan Abid, present Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Mr. Anwarul Haq, Additional Deputy Commissioner Hayat Shah, Commandant Chitral Task Force and other high ups belonging to Chitral in the Civil Secretariat for playing their important role and clearing the site for university, according to press release.
The local elders especially Dr. Inayatullah Faizi, President of the Press Club Zaheer-ud-Din and all those who contributed directly or indirectly to the success of the process were also thanked.
