Mr Khan calls for coordinated efforts to combat terrorists attack on police force

An important meeting held here on Thursday with the Caretaker Chief Minister Mohammad Azam Khan in the chair, reviewed overall law and order situation in the province.
The caretaker information minister, chief secretary and Inspector General of Police (IGP)as well as the secretaries concerned and other senior police officials attended the meeting.
The forum was apprised of the measures taken by the police, especially the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to prevent terrorist incidents across the KP. This year, 140 small and big incidents of terrorism have taken place in the province so far of which most of the incidents targeted law enforcement agencies, the briefing said.
Meanwhile, as a result of the timely action of the police, dozens of terrorist attacks were foiled.
In the meeting, it was decided to take action against unregistered vehicles, motorcycles and vehicles with black glasses.
Caretaker Chief Minister expressed concern over attacks on police personnel and directed the CTD and Special Branch to play a more proactive role to foil the planned attacks on the police,
Targeting of people belonging to minority community is worrisome, special attention should be given to protect them, Chief Minister added and said that law and order is the first priority and the most important responsibility.
“All possible measures should be taken to ensure the safety of the citizens. The current security situation in the province calls for extraordinary measures and a coordinated action plan, “ Azam Khan maintained.
Mr Khan also lauded the role of law enforcement agencies for making endless sacrifices for security of KP.
All the necessary and modern equipment should be provided to the police personnel to protect them from terrorist attacks, Chief Minister added.
