Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Tuesday, while strongly condemning casualties in the tragic blast in Bajaur, sought a report from the high-ups.
At least five people, including an Assistant Commissioner (AC), were killed and 11 others injured as a government vehicle was targeted in the district.
In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, Gandapur expressed profound sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the officials and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
He prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for strength and patience for their loved ones.
The Chief Minister directed the imposition of an emergency at hospitals in Bajaur to ensure immediate and adequate medical treatment for the injured. He conveyed his best wishes for their swift recovery.
“Targeting officers who are performing their duties to serve and protect the public is both tragic and deeply condemnable,” Gandapur said. “Such cowardly acts cannot shatter the resolve of the government or the people.” He reaffirmed that the people, the government, and state institutions remain united and determined in their fight to eliminate terrorism from the province.
