Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Friday announced granting of the status of district for Tehsil Allai in a high level meeting of elected public representatives from Hazara Division, said a handout.
The meeting was attended by Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Hazara Division, and senior officials of the divisional administration.
The meeting focused on consultations for the preparation of the next Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the Hazara Division and included a review of ongoing development projects in the region. This initiative was welcomed by the elected representatives of Battagram, who described it as a long-standing demand of the people and a step crucial to addressing the region’s administrative and developmental needs.
Chief Minister Gandapur stated that the decision fulfills the promise made by PTI Founder Chairman Imran Khan, who had earlier announced the upgradation of Alai to district status. “Granting district status to Alai will help eliminate the area’s backwardness and address the longstanding issues faced by its people,” the Chief Minister said.
He emphasized that, in line with the vision of Imran Khan, priority is being given to the development of neglected and remote areas. CM Gandapur directed that funds required for establishing Allai as a separate district be allocated in the upcoming provincial budget.
