Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of 15 newborn babies in a fire at PIMS Hospital and conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved parents.
The CM described the loss of innocent lives,particularly newborn babies as an extremely painful and distressing incident. She prayed for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace and for strength and patience for the bereaved families. She stressed that fire safety arrangements at healthcare facilities must be reviewed and effective measures taken to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
The CM said the safety of patients,particularly newborns and other vulnerable patients,must remain a top priority and directed the relevant authorities to ensure strict compliance with fire safety requirements in hospitals.
