Key cabinet-members refuted rumours of Mehmood Khan Replacement as chief minister

The rumours of the removal of Mehmood Khan as Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are baseless.
There have been speculations circulating on different social media platforms that Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to remove Chief Minister Mehmood Khan. But all speculations have no concert base, daily lead Pakistan has learned.
Chief Minister Mehmood Khan is going nowhere as Prime Minister Imran Khan stood firm by his decision, said key party stalwarts. They claimed that PM Premier was not considering any replacement of Mehmood Khan.
After receiving a vote of confidence from the National Assembly on February 6, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his speech quoted Chief Minister Mehmood Khan with golden words and termed his performance as an example for other provinces chiefs.
It is pertinent to mentioning here that the incumbent chief minister of the province has been making constant progress and had earned a good reputation for its party.
During his two and half a year in the office, many tried to replace Chief Minister but futile.
Chief Minister KP faced a difficult political situation when three of his cabinet ministers plotted against him but all time he succeeded and gain more trust of the Prime Minister on the basis of his performance in the province.
Later on, on the approval of the PM, those who plotted against the party chief minister were sacked from the cabinet.
Similarly, another attempt to remove Chief Minister KP with help of some other influential could not prove successful.
According to sources, Defense minister Pervez Khattak, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, and Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed are among those who have staunch support for Mehmood Khan as chief minister. Chief Minister KP is also in the good book of PM secretariat boss. According to sources, Imran Khan is satisfied with CM KP after winning 10 seats from the province in the recently held Senate elections.
When contacted, several key cabinet members refuted the speculation regarding CM Mehmood Khan’s replacement, adding that PM Imran Khan has shown full confidence over Mehmood Khan.
