condemns DI Khan attack
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Wednesday took notice of the firing incident targeting police personnel in Dera Ismail Khan and strongly condemned the attack. In a statement, the chief minister paid tribute to the police officials, including the station house officer (SHO), who were martyred in the terrorist attack. “We salute the great sacrifice of our police personnel,” he said, adding that the provincial government shared the grief of the bereaved families. Mr Afridi assured that the government would provide all possible assistance to the affected families. He said the KP Police was on the frontline in the fight against terrorism and that such “cowardly acts” could not dampen the morale of the force. The Chief Minister emphasised the need for a comprehensive and effective strategy to ensure the complete eradication of terrorism, terming it a common challenge for the entire country.
