Condemns Mohmand attack

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Thursday condemned the terrorist attack on a police vehicle in Mohmand tribal district that left an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a head constable martyred, saying such acts of violence would not weaken the nation’s resolve against terrorism.
In a statement, the chief minister expressed grief over the deaths of the two policemen and sought a detailed report on the incident from the police authorities.
He said terrorist elements were enemies of peace and humanity and vowed that their designs would be defeated.
Mr Afridi paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police in the fight against terrorism, saying the entire nation saluted the courage and professionalism of the force.
He said the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
The chief minister also expressed condolences to the families of the martyred policemen and assured them of the provincial government’s full support. He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the speedy recovery of the injured.
Separately, Mr Afridi took notice of the reported blast in Peshawar and directed the authorities concerned to submit a detailed report on the incident.
He also expressed sorrow over the death of a child in the blast, extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the early recovery of two children injured in the incident.
