CNIC registration drive for women held in FR-Peshawar

The Pakistan Community Support Project (PCSP) in collaboration with the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) arranged a two-day drive in the Telabhand Ghalibkhel area of Frontier Region (FR) Peshawar to facilitate community specially women for the registration of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
The drive which was specially focused on access to women for registration was part of the project’s commitment to bring public service delivery at the community doorstep.
The initiative was part of the project’s social development initiatives to facilitate women community members in obtaining CNICs in a convenient manner.
On the first day of the drive, a total of 50 community members availed the opportunity to acquire or modify their CNICs at their doorstep. Among the beneficiaries, 29 were male and 21 were female, hailing from the PCSP target areas in district Peshawar.
The second day also witnessed an equally positive response, with 41 individuals benefiting from the special facility.
Out of this group, 18 were male and 23 were female. The PCSP has provided improved access to infrastructures and services through a range of measures which have adopted the community-driven development approach.
Following the success of the CNIC drive in different parts of district Khyber, the PCSP initiative was met with enthusiasm and appreciation from the local community. The convenience and accessibility of the CNIC drive has enabled them, women in particular, to fully benefit from this facility.
The community members lauded the efforts of the PCSP and outcome of the drive which provided the community with an opportunity to acquire their CNICs facility on their door step.
The project will also unfold its activities in district Nowshera in the next phase, said the officials.
