Commissioner inspects development, security arrangements at UoP

Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud on Wednesday conducted a detailed visit to the University of Peshawar (UoP).
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing construction work at the university’s entry gate and reviewed the overall administrative, security, and traffic management systems on campus.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Sanaullah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance), and Assistant Commissioner Town Azeemullah Mehsud, Deputy Director Peshawar Uplift Program Engineer Adeel Ahmed, Director Peshawar Development Authority, and other concerned officers, according to a statement.
A comprehensive discussion was held on ensuring a safe, peaceful, and conducive educational environment for students.
Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud issued immediate instructions for the repair of dilapidated roads and footpaths, improvement of the drainage system, and directed that a comprehensive report be submitted to the relevant departments without delay.
On the occasion, the SSP Security briefed the Commissioner on campus security arrangements, while the University of Peshawar administration provided an overview of administrative matters.
The Commissioner emphasized that the construction work at the university’s entry gate must be completed within the stipulated time frame, maintaining high quality standards and complete transparency.
He further directed authorities to strengthen security measures, remove traffic bottlenecks, and ensure a secure environment for students and staff.
Additionally, Commissioner Peshawar Division ordered the renovation of the historic Khyber House building located within the University of Peshawar and stressed the importance of restoring its historical significance.
