D.I.KHAN: A meeting chaired by Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Zafar-ul-Islam reviewed progress on Gomal Zam Command Area Development Project. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) South Waziristan Lower Nasir Khan, DC Tank Muhammad Shoaib, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dera Ismail Khan Tariq Mehmood, Assistant to Commissioner (AC) Revenue, Irrigation Department, Agriculture, Nespak, Project Director Gomal Zam Command Area Development and officers of other relevant departments. The meeting reviewed progress on construction work of water courses and took necessary decisions for expediting the pace of work. The forum was informed about the performance of the projects through a presentation. Commissioner Zafar-ul-Islam directed the project director to submit a monthly review report on the ongoing schemes and also from Gomal Zam and Rod Kohi Irrigation. The report will be reviewed by concerned DC along with all the concerned officials of the project, he added and directed that immediate steps should be taken to remove the obstacles in all the schemes to ensure supply of water to far plunge areas landowners and farmers of the division.
