PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Planning and Development (P&D) on Friday directed the Elementary and Secondary Education Department for pragmatic steps to fully functional all community schools in the province, saying necessary arrangements should be carried out for the schools development on community levels.
The meeting of the committee was chaired by MPA Muhammad Shafiq Afridi and attended by its lawmakers members including Sardar Hussain Babak, Zafar Azam and Pakhtun Yar Khan.
Officials of government departments including P&D, education, irrigation, law, small dams, and Assembly staff attended the meeting. And for Development and Planning Department held a meeting, Chairman Committee and MPA Muhammad Shafiq Afridi presided.
Chairman Standing Committee Muhammad Shafiq Afridi directed education department to activate community schools in the entire province while ensuring arrangements for their further development.
The forum also instructed TESCO officials to undertake effective measures for uninterrupted supply of power in Newly Merged Areas (NMAs).
The forum held a detailed discussion on different developmental ongoing schemes and regularization of contractual employees in different projects.
The Chairman Committee sought details from concerned officials about the Government Post Graduate College Takht Nusrati district Karak and Government High School Sarmast Mirakkel Bannu in the next committee meeting.
He also gave orders to the officials of the education department to present the details related to the ongoing and proposed projects for the promotion of education in the NMAs.
