KP’s wildlife dept has auctioned four permits under markhor trophy hunting program 2022-23

After paying $105000 as a permit fee for trophy hunting, an American citizen has hunted a nine-year-old Markhor in the Shasha Conservation area located near Chitral city.
American hunter Kimper Todd Kevin hunted the first Markhor under the trophy hunting program 2022-23, said a handout.
The horns of the hunted animal were measured at 45 inches.
The American hunter, Mr Kimper Todd Kevin, paid the above mentioned fee to obtain the license of hunting the markhor in Chitral district of the province.
Spokesperson for forest, environment and wildlife KP Latif-ur-Rehman that local community receives 70 per cent of the income obtained from the permit fee as its share which is spent on their collective development.
He said that the department has auctioned only four permits for markhor under the trophy hunting program for this year.
