Committee emphasizes youth development through technical education

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Industry, Trade and Technical Education directed the department concerned to utilize all available resources for creating training and employment opportunities for skilled youth in the province.
The meeting was chaired by MPA Sardar Muhammad Yusuf Zaman and attended by committee members including MPA Qalandar Lodhi, Ms Samia, Shagufta Malik, Zubair, and Faheem Khan.
Deputy Secretary Assembly and the officials of the Department of Industries and Commerce and Technical Education also attended the meeting.
The chairman directed the concerned department to enhance effective relations with the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) authority for the provision of skilled manpower.
The forum was informed that the Industry, Trade and Technical Education department has so far equipped 200,000 youths of the province with different holistic market skills. On this occasion Chairman Standing Committee and MPA Sardar Muhammad Yusuf Zaman directed the concerned authorities to provide technical training in line of market jobs, adding that focused should be made on producing skilled manpower for local and international market.
The members of the meeting discussed in detailed the grant of financial support for employment to small businessmen in South Waziristan under the program of economic recovery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The officials informed the meeting that so far around 217 applicants have been declared eligible for financial assistance in the district.
The committee directed the department to review staff shortage and recruitment of Grade IV employees in Government Polytechnic College, Chagmalai, South Waziristan.
It was decided that the sub-committee should submit a detailed report in this regard before the committee.
The forum also decided to carry out an inspection visit of the economic zones in Hattar and Ghazi in the next month.
The committee was informed that about 75 percent of the examinations have been computerized under technical education.
The forum also directed the officials to take pragmatic steps to increase the efficiency of the Government Printing Press and emphasized on creating it a profitable body.
