Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said conflicts like Kashmir and Palestine pose threat to peace. Pakistan has always urged on resolving the issues in peaceful way. he said this while addressing the curtain raiser ceremony for the upcoming Inter Parliamentary Speakers’ conference in Islamabad on Monday
He called for greater negotiations and mediation for peaceful settlement of disputes.
He underlined peace, stability and development are deeply interlined to each other. Parliamentary diplomacy can play key role in talks. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need for strengthening multilateralism and international cooperation to deal with the multifaceted challenges facing the world.
Ishaq Dar said Pakistan continues to urge the need for addressing the vicious cycle of poverty and rising global inequality by reforming the international financial architecture.
He observed Pakistan is facing grave challenges like climate change . World is facing instability, crisis and wars.
He said we must address the threat to millions across the world as a result of climate change. He mentioned that Pakistan is once again facing devastating floods, which have displaced millions of people, caused colossal human and economic losses and posed a serious challenge to our recent gains in sustainable development. There is need to work together for regional peace and security. All will have to raise voice together for environmental justice.
Pakistan is among 10 countries which are affected by climate change while Pakistan has even not one percent share in climate change.
He said to the participants reforms are needed in global economic system.
