Cops injured as bank robbery attempt thwarted in Peshawar

Police foiled a bank robbery attempt on Warsak Road after a brief encounter with the suspects, who fled the scene leaving behind a motorcycle and weapons, officials said on Friday.
According to police, the suspects attempted to rob a bank located on Warsak Road but were confronted by personnel deployed in the area. The police responded promptly and engaged the suspects, forcing them to flee without taking any cash.
During the incident, some police personnel sustained injuries while bravely confronting the suspects.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed visited the injured personnel at Lady Reading Hospital and praised their courage and sense of duty.
“The policemen foiled the robbery attempt by giving a very bold response,” the CCPO said while appreciating their timely action. Later, he also visited the site of the incident on Warsak Road and inspected the available evidence.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations), Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.
The CCPO directed police officials to utilise all available resources to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the incident at the earliest.
