Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore has reserved judgment on bail plea of PTI founder Imran Khan in 8 cases related to May 9.
Judge Manzar Ali Gill of ATC took up for hearing bail pleas of Imran Khan in 8 cases of May 9 incident.
Barrister Suleman Safdar counsel for PTI founder appeared in the court.
He argued wrong reaction from people came in regard to opinion of PTI founder. I have filed power of attorney in more than 240 cases of PTI founder. All kinds of cases were registered against the one accused. No clause is left under which case has not been registered. Cipher case came to Supreme Court. In all other cases relief was given by subordinate courts.
The counsel said decisions were given against the government in 30 cases. I am placing before you about 25 decisions .
In every case police are claimant. Government has thrown leg break, off break and second and third. Some time they say conspiracy took place this way. Then they say no this took place this way. Bushra Bibi was included in 12 cases that she was also involved in conspiracy. Slandering is easy but proving it is difficult.
Barrister Suleman Safdar said I am not seeking from court discharge or dismissal of case. You cannot provide these facilities. The accused is in prison since long. I am seeking bail from the court.
He further argued medical certificates of Pervaiz Musharraf were presented. He had to leave this world to prove them true. Then all became sure that all medical certificates were correct.
Judges have relied on PTI founder being in the custody of NAB from May 9 to 12.
Special prosecutor said in his arguments all the cases relate to treason and attacks on sensitive installations. What decisions were presented had nothing to do with these cases.
He said that Rangers and Policemen were martyred and the accused says he is in jail. The bail plea of the accused be dismissed.
The court reserved judgment after the completion of arguments by the counsel of the accused in respect of bail pleas of PTI founder.
