interim bail approved till Aug 29
ISLAMABAD
The special court established under official secret act has restrained FIA from arresting PTI leader Asad Umar and approved his interim bail till August 29. Earlier PTI had claimed Asad Umar had been arrested. Special court led by Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain took up the Asad Umar interim bail plea for hearing Tuesday. Babar Awan advocate appeared on behalf of Asad Umar.
The court while restraining FIA from arresting Asad Umar issued notice to it and sought reply till August 29.
Asad Umar had filed interim bail plea in special court in Cipher case.
The news came on August 20 that Asad Umar had been arrested for violating official secret act.
Sources said that Asad Umar was arrested by Islamabad Police in Islamabad. He was arrested on the matter of cipher and he would be handed over to FIA.
However Asad Umar while talking to media outside special court Tuesday contradicted reports of his arrest. He told media he was not arrested by FIA.
He said “ I have come to court in the matter to cipher and I have filed bail before arrest plea. I have joined the investigation into this case twice. I hope I will stand proved innocent.
