Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash has ordered district administrative officers to achieve a target set for coronavirus vaccination drive in the province.
CS-KP said that the provincial government has decided to achieve its Covid-19 immunization target as early as possible, terming the ongoing drive of vaccination of paramount importance against the virus pandemic.
Dr Shahzad Bangash issued these directive here on Tuesday while chairing a review meeting on the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination drive in the province.
“Pay special attention to achieve the goals set in the campaign to increase the immunity of the citizens against coronavirus,” he added.
The concerned Administrative Secretaries, Director General Health Services, Director PMRU, Coordinator Emergency Operation Center Asif Rahim attended the meeting.
Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and District Health Officers also participated in the meeting through video link.
Coordinator EOC briefed the meeting on the current situation and daily targets on coronavirus vaccination.
CS-KP directed concerned officials to pay attention to targets and ensure at least 80pc vaccination target as directed by NCOC, he said, adding that the population of the province must be vaccinated through the daily vaccination process without any further delay.
He pointed out in the meeting that the process of vaccination for masses must be ensured in medical teaching institutes and district headquarters hospitals.
Mr Bangash also warned disciplinary action against medical superintendents whose hospitals did not perform as per the provincial government directions and failed to achieve set targets in covid-19 vaccination.
