Customs Authorities Destroys 1,150 Liters Of Expired Beverage

Customs enforcement officials at the Torkham border on Friday destroyed 1,150 liters of expired concentrates beverage used in soft drinks manufacturing.
Talking to mediamen deputy collector custom Haseeb Bajwa said a beversge company had exported the concentrate beverage to Afghanistan where it expired. He said the beverage was imported back to Pakistan by the owner and voluntarily confescated to custom authorities at Torkham border.
He said the seized concentrate beverage used in cold drink production.
The official said the worth of the beversge in the open market is millions of rupees.
He said concentrate beverage was found to be expired and was in violation of import regulations.
He said following the volunteer seizure procedure, customs officials completed the necessary legal formalities and destoryed it.
Haseeb Bajwa said the action underscores the commitment of customs authorities to enforcing import regulations and ensuring that only compliant and safe products enter the market. He said the authorities would continue to remain vigilant in their efforts to prevent the circulation of expired or non-compliant goods from and to Afghanistan.
