The issue of holding a Davis Cup tie between traditional rivals Pakistan and India, India did not leaves his stubbornness in sports.
India again approached International Tennis Federation on holding Davis Cup in Pakistan and this time in his application it showed concerned under the pretext of the security due to holding general election on February 8.
Earlier, All Indian Tennis Association had demanded that the Davis Cup tie be held at a neutral venue citing security concerns which was supposed to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan in February 2024.
The Davis Cup Committee of the Federation rejected India’s demand and instructed the All India Tennis Association to send its team to Pakistan, making it clear that if the Indian team does not go to Pakistan, Pakistan will be the winner of the tie.
After a few weeks of this decision, India has appealed against the holding of the Davis Cup in Pakistan and has taken a position that the international body should reconsider its decision in view of the general elections and security concerns in Pakistan on February 8.
