Implementation of the historic Kohat Peace Agreement is in progress to establish lasting peace in the tribal district of Kurram.
Under the agreement, almost all the bunkers have been demolished. In the next phase, the collection of heavy weapons is underway.
In light of the Jirgas held with the parties in Kurram District, the deadline for surrendering heavy weapons was set as May 31, 2025; however, the deadline has been extended till June 10.
As per the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Kurram, the general public and warring parties have been directed to surrender their heavy weapons by June 10, 2025.
In case of recovery of weapons after the deadline, the weapons will be confiscated by the government and action will be taken under the Arms Act. The public has been advised to voluntarily comply with the orders.
