Deputy Commissioner Mansehra Captain (Retd) Bilal Shahid Rao chaired a meeting at Circuit House, Mansehra, to review the ongoing activities of Sub-National Governance (SNG) Programme funded by FCDO UK. SNG provides Technical Assistance to government on improved governance in Pakistan.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Planning), Tehsil Chairman Mansehra, Assistant Commissioners, TMOs, and representatives of concerned district departments participated in the meeting.
On DC Mansehra special invitation, Dr. Abdul Majid, Dean, faculty of Management Sciences, University of Haripur and Dr. Yasir from Hazara University participated. SNG Team has undertaken various initiatives with the collaboration of academia of these universities.
SNG team was represented by Dr. Raheel Ahmad Siddiqui, Provincial Team Lead, and Mr. Kashif Ali, District Team Lead and others.
The forum was informed that SNG provides technical support to district and tehsil administrations and tehsil local governments on budgeting, planning, and improving revenue generation at the local level.
In this regard, the team of SNG is working with TMA Mansehra on various interventions to improve the sources of income, besides supporting the Land-Use Planning and Management Committee of District Mansehra and Strengthening governance model of Disaster Risk Management in Tehsil Balakot.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the SNG team, which has selected Mansehra district for technical assistance.
