DC Peshawar urges parents to administer polio drops to children

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar on Monday urged the parents to get their children vaccinated during the anti-polio drive launched in the provincial capital.
According to a statement issued here, DC Peshawar Afaq Wazir supervised the anti-polio teams in different areas and convinced the refusing parents to administer polio drops to the children.
A seven-day anti-polio campaign is ongoing in the provincial capital Peshawar under the supervision of the district administration.
In order to get firsthand information about the drive, visited Nasir Bagh Road, Regi, Hayatabad, Pishtakhara and other areas and held meetings with parents refusing polio drops to their children.
The statement claimed that a number of parents on the consultation of DC Peshawar agreed to administer anti-polio drops to their children and assured the district administration for further cooperation.
The administrative officers also supervised the anti-polio teams in their areas across the district and convinced the refusing parents to protect the children from polio.
During the anti-polio campaign, 901,985 children will be administered polio drops for which 2,496 teams have been formed and adequate security arrangements have been made for these teams.
DC Peshawar Afaq Wazir has appealed to the parents to give their children anti-polio drops to save them from permanent disability and to cooperate with the polio teams so that the polio virus can be eradicated from Peshawar.
He said that we will not have to play our role to eradicate polio and eradication of polio will be possible only with our joint efforts.
