LAHORE
Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) President and Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif has lashed out at government for its being inefficient saying a common man finds it hard to eke out his living. He said that decision regarding the long march would be taken on Dec 6.
Addressing a presser in Lahore on Saturday, the PML-N president said that the opposition would hold march against inflation as the Pakistan Democratic Movement had never let down its countrymen. He was of the view that the government was making this country a slave to the International Monetary Fund.
He believed that Pakistan and Tehreek-e-Insaf could not go side by side. He vowed to give a tough time to the government.
On the gruesome lynching and burning incident of a foreigner in Sialkot, Shehbaz said that the head of whole nation was bowed down with shame on this grisly incident. He remembered that during his tenure, some elements tried to do politics on such incidents but we refrained from doing so.
While talking about economy, he said that the country was heading towards an economic disaster. He was of the view if nations confronted the economic ruin, nobody could save them. He said currently our economy was in turmoil and it had become difficult for a common man to lead his life.
“For the last three years, the government has sown the seeds of economic ruin. Though inflation has hit the globe but Pakistan is on third position in the ranking of countries with high inflation.

Shehbaz said that the efficiency of this government was bad even before
the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. He said that he had told the
government in parliament to show some signs of sagacity, but the
government turned deaf ears to all of his warnings.

The PML-N president lamented that in June 2018, we took loan worth
Rs30,000 billion and the rate of inflation hovered between 3% to 4% in
that year but after that the IMF enslaved the nation.

He revealed that neighbouring India did its last agreement with the IMF
in 1991. He was of the view that during a period of last 72 years, we
all contributed to Pakistan’s destruction. But there could not be any
comparison between the Nawaz Sharif government and this government.

He reminded the audience that Imran Khan while standing on containers
vowed to the nation that he would reduce loans by Rs10,000 billion. But
his government has taken Rs20,000 billion loans in 39 months, he added.

When the PML-N government took loans, it launched mega projects to repay
the loans. We initiated 10,000 megawatt power projects. We spent on
education and health.

He regretted that the PTI government’s billion trees project was rife
with corruption. He deplored that in the 71 years old history of
Pakistan, the government had obtained 70% loan. He said that even
Bangladesh’s economy was better than us.

He was of the view if the PTI government’s billion trees project was
successful, we would not have to face the problem of smog. He regretted
that the government was cutting the development programme on the IMF
