Delegation meets Commissioner to ensure relief for public in Ramazan

PESHAWAR: In order to provide relief to the public during the holy month of Ramazan and to eliminate artificial inflation and profiteering, office bearers of Tehreek Paigham-e-Ehsas-e-Insaniyat Peshawar on Thursday held a meeting with Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud, at his office. The delegation was led by the organization’s founding leader Ayaz Ahmed Awan, President of Peshawar Traders Chamber Ghulam Bilal Javed and former Member of Provincial Assembly and Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arif Yousaf. During the meeting, the delegation presented several suggestions regarding the stabilization of food prices, prevention of hoarding, effective market monitoring, improved cleanliness and traffic management and the provision of public facilities.
The delegation assured the commissioner of full cooperation with the administration and pledged to play an active role in awareness campaigns and practical measures against profiteering.
Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud appreciated the proposals and stated that providing maximum relief to the public during Ramadan is the top priority of the district administration. He further said that strict action against profiteers and illegal price manipulators would continue.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to take joint measures to ensure maximum convenience and relief for the public.
At the end of the meeting, the organization presented a souvenir to Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mahsud in recognition of his services.
