DEO Mardan bars media persons’ entry in district schools

District education officer (DEO) has directed all the principals, headmasters of Mardan district to not allow the media person to their schools, sources said.
Sources added that from the last few days’ news was published in different newspapers and social media against the DEO Zulfiqar-ul-Mulak for his dual charge and alleged corruption.
Sources added that the DEO education has doubts that some principal of his department allegedly provided information to the media person against him. Sources added that DEO Zulfiqar-ul-Mulak has issued a letter No 5439/G dated 5 July 2022.
Sources added that the EDO stated in the letter that the undersigned has observed that some school heads are allowing media persons to schools and are participating in broadcast and communications to the press that does not conform to the required standards of the official conduct, as envisaged in the rule 24 i.e. “Radio broadcast and communications to the Press”.
No Government servant shall, except with the previous sanction of government, or any other authority empowered by it in this behalf, or in bona fide discharge of his duties, participate in a radio broadcast or television programme or contribute any article or write any letter, either anonymously or in his own name or in the name of any other person to any newspaper or periodical “ under Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (conduct) Rules, 1987. Therefore, all school heads are strictly directed to refrain from indulging in such activities. Any school head found violating the above instruction may lead them liable to be proceeded against under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2011. Sources added that EDO forwarded the copy of the letter to all the principals, headmasters, SDEOS, P.S. to the Secretary to the Govt. E & SED Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PA to Director E & SE Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PA to Deputy Commissioner Mardan and District Monitoring Officer (EMA) Mardan.
