As many as 130 deserving Christians have received financial aid from the department of Hajj and Auqaf, government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) on the arrival of Easter here on Thursday.
In this connection a simple gathering was organized in Landi Kotal where Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Ashrafuddin and minority Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Wilson Wazir distributed cheques of the financial package to the Christians on behalf of Auqaf Department.
Approximately 1.3 million rupees among 130 deserving local Christians, ten thousand each family got the financial aid.
Speaking on the occasion AAC) Ashrafuddin and MPA Wilson Wazir said that the purpose of the financial package is to extend support to the poor minority families to celebrate their religious festivity, Easter to be scheduled on April 16, 2022.
All minorities enjoy their religious freedom in the country and the government adopts initiatives to work for the welfare of them, AAC Ashrafuddin said.
At the end the minority MPA along the Christian community thanked the Chief Minister KP Mehmmod Khan, department of Auqaf and other concerned authorities for extending financial support on the occasion of Easter celebration.
