Finance Minister (FM) Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said digitalization program is moving ahead on fast track basis in Pakistan. Work is underway speedily on digitalization of infrastructure, payment systems and rails, and digitization of government-related payments with clear targets.
The meeting focused on accelerating Pakistan’s transition towards a cashless and digitally enabled economy, with particular emphasis on expanding financial inclusion and strengthening digital payments.
In his remarks, President Ant International Group, Douglas Feagin reaffirmed commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital economy agenda by bringing global experience, technology capabilities, and operational know-how gained across Asia to help expand cashless payment adoption and digital financial services.
The two sides expressed confidence in continued engagement and coordination on priority initiatives, including merchant digitization, customer education and supporting national objectives for payments modernization and financial inclusion.
FM while appreciating the proposals of the delegation said these will be considered along with the respective institutions so that journey of digital economy could be made more accelerated and effective in Pakistan.
