A protest rally of disable persons against discriminatory behavior towards them was held here at Bacha Khan Sqaure, main Landi Kotal Bazaar on Sunday.
Holding black flags, numbers of tribesmen with physical disabilities gathered at the Square while condemning the neglecting attitude of the government towards them.
Addressing on the occasion Anjumane Mazoraan (association of disable persons),Landi Kota head Ashraf Gul Shinwari and vice-President Anwar Jamal Afridi and other said that across the world disable were known as special persons and special treatment was extended to them however in Pakistan and especially in merged tribal region step mother behavior was done to the disable people that was regretful.
No special quota has been reserved in jobs for them and all their privileges are granted to the physically well and healthy people, they blamed.
Special persons had been ignored during Kuli Kachehri (open court session) organized by the administration officials from time to time, they lamented and added no concrete initiatives had been adopted so far to address their miseries.
They sought the setting up of a social welfare office in Landi Kotal so that they could convey their problems to the concerned department.
The special persons also demanded of the authorities to issue them a special card for crossing the Torkham border thus they could earn three times the meal for their families.
The protestors marched in front of the local press club to file their agitation and dispersed peacefully.
